ARDEX CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY
Aliquippa, PA (October 16, 2003) – “When I started ARDEX U.S.A. 25 years ago, I knew it would succeed – I had no doubt in my mind. But I didn’t count on how much I would enjoy and appreciate the Pittsburgh area and the hundreds of employees ARDEX now has,” Herbert Goller, President and CEO of ARDEX, proudly addressed the more than 500 business partners, friends, family, shareholders and employees of the Aliquippa-based company who joined together on September 27th to celebrate ARDEX’s first quarter-century in the U.S.
What started as a small group, dedicated and determined to make this pioneering technology a leader in the flooring and construction industry, has grown into an engineered cements powerhouse through hard work and unwavering commitment. Strong partnerships were formed with a network of distributors and contractors dedicated to the highest quality standards and leadership in the industry.
Over these 25 years, ARDEX has grown from a small labor-intensive manufacturing plant to a state-of-the-art production facility. ARDEX worldwide is a leading manufacturer of specialty cements used by flooring and building professionals for substrate preparation, flooring, installation and concrete repair and resurfacing – but it doesn’t end there. In August 2000, ARDEX acquired The W.W. HENRY Company - the world’s largest manufacturer of flooring adhesives used with resilient flooring, carpet and wood - expanding their leadership position to include complete flooring installation systems.
The festivities marking ARDEX’s silver anniversary began at the ARDEX facilities in Aliquippa with a kickoff champagne brunch and reception. Attendees were invited to explore the manufacturing, technical and office facilities at their leisure, or to take a structured tour throughout the campus while listening to the melodic sounds of the Kenny Blake Trio band. “It was one of the classiest welcome receptions I’d ever attended,” said John Lowther, owner of JKL Construction, an ARDEX Preferred Installer from Scottsdale, AZ. “I’ve been using ARDEX products for 18 years, and have taken several plant tours. It always impresses me. ARDEX has applied the highest quality standards to all their technology - it’s a remarkable consistency, and I look forward to continuing our partnership together.”
To top off the events of the day, guests gathered for a black-tie gala at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Pittsburgh International Airport. Many guest speakers graced the stage at the Hyatt, offering congratulations for the first 25 years, and encouragement for the next 25. The evening culminated with “No Bad Ju Ju” performing live on stage as guests danced the night away.
